NEW DRIVING LAWS OF 2025

Here are some new laws that will affect drivers in California:

• SB 1107 - Increases minimum car insurance liability limits in California to $30,000 for bodily injury per person, $60,000 for bodily injury total (if there is more than one person injured) and $15,000 for property damage.

• AB 2111 - Makes it illegal for anyone to change the reflective coating in their license plate to avoid the electronic identification of their plate.

• SB 905 - Eliminates the loophole that requires the doors of a car to be locked in order to prosecute car burglars. It also makes it illegal if someone has more than $950 worth of stolen items from a car…whether they took it or not.

• Multiple Bills - Gives law enforcement more ability to combat street takeovers or sideshows by making it easier for vehicles to be impounded and applying harsher penalties…to those involved AND spectators.
